DMOZ is an open source directory and its edited by human. Actually there is no easy to trick it but you can gain a handsome traffic on this. Most of the search engine use DMOZ article to find out the relevant contents. DMOZ in a human edited where if submit your site then it will be reviewed by humans hands and it might took 6 months, 1 months, 1 week or even one day depends on your site contents as well as uniqueness your site have.
Read the submission term before you submit your site if may bother though but if u find uncomfortable then don't submit it but if you like to submit then try to best out of it.

Step one: Determine whether a site is appropriate or not
1. Mirrored site are not allowed
2. Duplicate site with different URLs
3. no cheating-Do not submit the same URL twice.
4. NO redirects
5. No illegal contents, no copy to another site or not any child phonograph
6. No under construction site
7. Submit to appropriate language
Step two: Do a quick search that you site is not already listed
Step three: Select the best category and then directly go to dmoz.org and select suggest URL and then put some information and then everything occur nicely.
